Guadalupe Cemetery
(The Stonewall Mexican Cemetery)
It is located at the out-skirts of Stonewall at the inter-section of Highway
290, and Hahn Road.
The History of Guadalupe Cemetery
Matias Carrion, Mariano Venzor, Estevan Martinez, Vital Flores and Juan Cortez
purchased the
one acre of land for $75.00. They purchased the land from Christian
Hahn and was to be used
as a cemetery. It was recorded on Feburary 20, 1916.
Later they gave the cemetery to the Saint Mary's Catholic and they gave it
the name Guadalupe Cemetery.
It has always been referred to as The Stonewall Mexican Cemetery. Joann
Najaro is in charge of
the cemetery. For years, Joann and Santiago Najaro have taken care
of the cemetery.
