This survey describes a small cemetery north of San Antonio, TX and east of

Bulverde, TX on the north side of Texas Ranch Road 1863 east of US 281. The

cemetery is on a bluff that looks over Cibolo Creek, a major feature of the

local geography. Bulverde was settled in 1850 and was originally known as

Pieper Settlement until 1879 when the local post office, operated by Carl

Koch, was named Bulverde in honor of Luciano Bulverdo, an early landowner

in the area.

The cemetery is next to the gate signed "Double J Ranch, Bulverde, TX" and

is separated from the neighboring pasture by a wire fence. Approximate

latitude and longitude coordinates are N 29 45' W 98 25'.

NOTES: Some of these stones are written in German which is very common locally

even past the turn of the century. Uecker is a common surname commonly found

in old the cemeteries of the area.

9 graves are not marked with inscribed headstones, but are enclosed in stone

and / or marked with the bases of past headstones.

Karl Berold Titenborn?? Only the first name is fully legible - dates and other

information are totally obliterated.
