- Train Kills Man and Horse - Strikes Vehicle Occupied by
L.W. Stevens and Daughter at El Paso- Girl Escapes.
Special to the News. El Paso, Tex.,
Feb 8- Running at a high speed, a special train on the Galveston, Harrisburg
and San Antonio, at a street crossing near Washington Park, at 4 o'clock
this afternoon, struck a buggy occupied by I.W. Stevens and his 16-year-old-daughter.
Mr. Stevens and the horse were instantly killed and the buggy demolished,
while the girl escaped without injury. Mr. Stevens was the father of Ike
and R.H.Stevens, members of the police of this city, and was formerly Sheriff
of Bandera County, He was 63 years old.

Morning News - Trapped in Auto Young Couple Die -
San Antonio, Texas, May 13, (SP)-
The bodies
of a young couple recovered from a closed automobile in Bandera Creek,
whose flood waters are believed to have trapped them Thursday night, were
thought to be Arthur Haley and wife. A handbook
found on the dead man bore Haley's name.
The
bodies were recovered about two miles from Bandera, Sheriff Hicks of Bandera
County telephoned the Bexar County Sheriff's office. At the hotel where
Arthur and Crystal Haley had been staying
for the last three months it was said Haley came here from Houston and
represented the Western Distributing Compnay and K. & S. Sales Company
of Chicago.
