Rudolph Kokes passed away in a San Antonio hospital Monday following an illness of about a month's duration. He was 65 years, 6 months and 2 days old. The remains were brought to the Plummer funeral home here and lay in state until yesterday at 3 p.m. when funeral services were held with Rev. Wm. H. Anderson of San Antonio officiating. Pallbearers were Fred, Lenzie, and George Maass of Bandera, Henry Hermes of Hondo, Mr. Seiffert and R. Judmaier of San Antonio. Interment was in the Bandera Cemetery.
The deceased was born in St. Louis, Mo., on Nov. 1, 1877. He had made his home in Texas for about 25 years and was a decorator by trade. He married Miss Emma Maass of Bandera in 1915 and to this union one son, Loyd, was born. Mrs. Kokes passed away when Loyd was just a baby and he was reared by Wm. J. Maass. In 1926 he married Mrs. Annie Graff and she and Loyd survive as well as two brothers and two sisters, and one grandson.
